The Autumn
As the Earth revolves and travels around the Sun, the wheel of life turns and we reach the Autumn Equinox.
Our ancestors did not have the instruments of time measuring that we have today and take for granted; our watches, calendars, email reminders, auto alerts and so many more.

However, they learned by observing Moon phases, sunrises, and the repetition of the seasons, and thus, the cycle/circle (or wheel) of life.
They would have observed that for a short time the days were as long as the nights during what we now refer to as the 'Autumn Equinox'.

Harvest Festival
Mabon, (it would most likely have been pronounced as ‘mahboon’) derives from the (Celtic) Welsh. There are several references that associate Mabon with the legendary King Arthur...
However, as the son of Mother Earth he was celebrated as the ‘great son’ and associated with the last harvest of the season.
