Surprisingly, we’ve had quite a few questions about using the sea and or sea water in rituals. Maybe we should not be surprised. The Moon and the tides are, as one.
So we sat down and thought - well yes! We love being at the seashore. We are all deep down drawn to the seas and oceans, probably why so many rush to the coast, whenever they can... Even if it's just to dip your toes and feel it swirling around your ankles. It's refreshing, soothing, calming and can bring a sense of peace.
A beautiful beach is neither here nor there for us, the magic is in the roar of the waves crashing to the shore. The closer we are the better, to feel the mist of the sea spray on your face and breathing the energy in, is just magnificent and completely energising. Stormy seas are just mesmerising, yet you feel more and more alive as you sit and stare out, irrelevant of the weather. Even in its calm state, the tranquillity it brings can be immensely powerful.
So what's the draw...
The crashing of the water onto the shore, even when it is calm, creates negative ions in the air, and it’s those negative ions that make us feel so alive and positive! Physically, we breathe deeper and more easily. Mentally, we feel a clarity, like a gentle blowing away of the cobwebs in our mind.
However... Whilst it’s tempting to rush out and buy an ioniser for the home, there is so far no medical evidence that they have the same effect.
Maybe they haven’t yet been able to replicate the power of nature, or the simple fact is that having a machine in your living room (beautiful as it may be) simply cannot replicate the physical experience we encounter by being on the shorefront.
Sea Magic is a huge topic that we will endeavour to share with you in our other publications, but for many practitioners the sea and ocean waters represent abundance. Whilst this may be initially associated with money and wealth, it also represents a seemingly endless supply of inspiration, love, and protection.
