Tree of Life
Today, there are lots of symbols and many images of the Tree of Life, all around us. From tea towels to t-shirts or drinks coasters to posters, greetings cards to calendars and of course, jewellery.
It’s a seemingly endless list. They’re artistic; they’re dramatic and for the most part beautiful. However, they are what they are to most peeps, - simply, decorative.
This would most certainly have not have been the case with the Celtic people and much less so with their spiritual leaders the Druids.
The Tree of Life was a very powerful symbol, and one that would have been revered, feared and very much respected.
This would not have been applicable just to Celts and Druids, both here and throughout Northern Europe, but nearly all ancient religions and cultures globally.
In a time prior to supposedly documented and therefore indoctrinated and organised religion, used by men to land grab and rule...people lived in small settlements.
People would be born, live, create life, age, and die, and the life they created would continue the cycle. But the consistent feature throughout this cycle was the trees and the forests. Providing fruits, nuts, berries, and shelter to build homes, fires, tools and weapons.
