Visit our witchy emporium…

We had been pondering on opening a bricks-and-mortar retail shop for a few years, and in January 2023, we finally went and did it, opening our first 'witchy just for you' shop in the pretty little Charter town of Bampton in mid-Devon.

It was a cosy little shop, making it very appealing to the locals and visitors, but we soon struggled with a lack of space to stock all the 'must haves' and essentials so beloved by our witchy friends and Flickering family.

Then, in March 2024, an out-of-the-blue opportunity arose for a much larger, prime-location shop in the heart of the busy, bustling Devonshire market town of Tiverton. This was a 'grab the broomstick with both hands' moment, and we took it.

So, today, you can find us in Tiverton's Independent Quarter surrounded by some wonderful shops. There are art galleries, pottery shops, book and music shops, some wonderful cafes/restaurants, an ole fashion sweetie shop and much more.

More about our shop…

Pop in for a browse and a friendly chat, or park your broom, rest your feet, and enjoy one of our delicious teas, coffees or scrummy hot chocolate. Our unique brand of fruity 'Witches Brew' tea is very popular. No matter what path you follow, there will be something for everyone and for all your witchy needs.

There's tons of witchy stuff to see and so much more. Candles are a firm favourite with everyone, witchy or not. All sorts of aromatic incense: sticks; cones; resins, you name it. Plus a wide range of beautiful incense burners (the dragons are our favourites). Witchy mugs, wind chimes, pestles and mortars, and some wonderfully witchy herb and plant pots. Crystals (of course), and the ever-popular crystal trees, along with our large range of crystal balls. All the Flickering publications are available, as well as our unique Sabbat and Christmas greetings cards and wrapping paper.

Our stock is expanding and constantly changing so the above is just a tiny snippet of what we have in store.
We Look Forward to Seeing You!

More to see…

Whilst we are convinced that our shop alone justifies a visit to Devon, it's fair to say this part of the country also offers a few other attractions!

The ancient market town of Tiverton is the thriving hub of the Exe Valley. The River Lowman and the River Exe runs right through the centre of the town, which is surrounded by the lush green Devonshire hills. Be warned - If you do a little evening shopping at Tesco you will most likely hear the sheep on the hillsides. Not something you would normally experience in a Tesco's car park!

Amongst its many highlights, the town of Tiverton is the starting point of the Great Western Canal which has 11 miles of towpath and unspoiled waterway on foot.

After stopping at ours for a delicious coffee and your witchy supplies, you can walk on round to the family friendly Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life, it is a treasure trove of fascinating objects and quirky artefacts that weave incredible stories about the people who lived here. The museum has extensive permanent displays, and a lively events and exhibition programme.

Another wonderful place to visit with a fascinating history, occupying a defensive position above the banks of the River Exe, you will find the remains of the medieval Tiverton Castle, dismantled after the Civil War and thereafter converted in the 17th century into a country house.

Few minutes drive up the road you will find Bickleigh, with its lovely thatched cottages, a railway museum, gardens, a 14th century bridge, a working water mill, shopping and crafts centre.

The little village of Bolham is well-signposted and less than 10 minutes drive from Tiverton. You will see the brown tourist signs for 'Knightshayes Court'. It's a National Trust gothic mansion. It is a 'not to be missed' if you're in the area

The buzzing City of Exeter is just a 25-minute drive from Tiverton, and the sandy beach of Exmouth is only 15 minutes more. To visit the well-known town of Ilfracombe takes just under an hour, and the equally famous Minehead is just 40 minutes away.

If you’re exploring the delights of Devon, there are plenty of places to stay and/or eat, in Tiverton, and of course, the highlight of your visit will be the Flickering Cauldron and Kettle!

If you are heading down to Cornwall, take a break from the M5 at Tiverton (Jct 27).
